EU Delegation: SPO should not be obstructed and all parties should adhere to the agreement

The EU Delegation to Macedonia urged all parties to adhere to the agreement and not to obstruct the work of the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

“We can not comment on ongoing investigations, but we remind that all parties committed themselves to support the work of the SPO”, said the EU Delegation in Skopje to “Meta”, when asked for their comment on recent developments related to the obstruction of the SPO’s work , by the Administration of Security and Counterintelligence, along with the former Minister of Interior and current Director of the Public Security Bureau, Mitko Chavkov and the additional Deputy Minister, Oliver Andonov.

Yesterday, the Special Public Prosecutor entered the premises of UBK with two court orders requiring the inspection of the documentation and data systems for the monitoring of communications.

Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva said that cooperation with the management of UBK had been “very difficult”.

The team of prosecutors and investigators are still in the Administration of Security and Counterintelligence.
