Erdogan confirms the new Government’s cabinet

The president of Turkey, Redzep Taipp Erdogan approved the new Government’s cabinet that was proposed by Prime Minister Ahmet Davitoglu.

The new government includes a Kurdish party for the first time ever.

Ali Hayder will be the minister of European Union matters and Muslim Dogan will be the minister of development. Both ministers are members of the pro-Kurd National Democratic Party who were members of the parliament.

The new Foreign Minister will be Feridun Sinirlioglu. The Minister of Economy and Finance will remain the same – Nihat Zejbekci and Mehmet Shimsek. The new minister of energy is Ali Riza Alaboyun.

Three days ago Davitoglu called on oposition parties to taken on the responisibility of participating in the temporary government. He offered minisiterial posts.

Erdogan gave powers to Davutoglu to form a temporary government, which will lead the country up to the coming elections on November 1.

The temporary government was formed after the two-month negotiations failed to form a new government coalition after the June 7 elections when the AKP party lost majority for the first time since 2002.
