Today and tomorrow, the city of Ohrid will be the host for a large number of former and current diplomats that are part of the Ohrid group that have been gathered together for the Ohrid dialogue event. All of them want to help Macedonia through active solutions in the accomplishment of its own Euro-Atlantic integrations.

The Ohrid dialogue represents a strategic dialogue for promoting progressive and advanced solutions for the challenges that Macedonia and the region face with, informs the government’s press service. A part of the Ohrid group is the former NATO’s Secretary-General, George Robertson.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev greeted the guests with a warm welcome. The diplomats and the remaining high ranking guests are here when there is a debate and when solutions are sought in order to remain on the road towards a better future for all of the citizens, said the prime minister.

During the morning panel, there were talks about the next steps that Macedonia has to take. The participants have agreed they are here to help in order for greater progress to be achieved in the country’s Euro-Atlantic integrations. Almost 20 years ago the NATO membership was looked upon as a mission impossible when the country’s conflict had just ended and there were many divisions in the society. Today, Macedonia is a step closer to a fully-fledged membership into NATO and it remains dedicated to the implementation of the EU’s standards.
