A parliamentary group for the rights of the LGBTI community will be established in Parliament

Today the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia will establish and promote the Inter-party Parliamentary Group for the rights of the LGBTI community, which will be members from the existing parliamentary composition from various political parties.

The initiators of this idea are MPs Maja Morachanin, Pavle Bogoevski, Branko Manoilovski, Liljana Popovska, Irena Stefoska, Ivana Tufegdzic, Juliana Nikolova, Petar Atanasov, Nikica Korubin, Sonja Mirakovska, Jagoda Shahpaska, Aleksandar Kiracovski and Slavica Shumanska-Miteva.

Parliament informs, besides MPs, representatives from embassies, and the NGO sector are invited to the meeting. Morachanin and Pavle Bogoevski have been welcomed to speak at the constitutional meeting, after which they will be presented with the Assessment of Knowledge, views, needs and practices of the MPs in Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia regarding the human rights of the LGBTI community and protection against discrimination which will be presented by Dragana Drndarevska.
