Members of the Inquiry Committee argue again, Stavreski will not testify

At today’s session at the Inquiry Commission over the wire-tapping scandal, where the Minister of Finances, Zoran Stavreski was meant to testify, was stopped

Committee Chairman Petre Shilegov had to stop the session after Members of the committee from VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM, as usual, began to disagree on the agenda again.

Speaking to reporters, Petre Shilegov said it was totally unfair to the citizens that out of the six invited officials and members of the VMRO-DPMNE, only two will testify, and both of them will not testify publicly. According to Shilgov, the fact that PM Nikola Gruevski and Minister Zoran Stavreski refused to answer questions publicly, it is a clear attempt to hide their crimes from the citizens.

“From the behaviour of VMRO-DPMNE, it brings the Inquiry Commissions purpose under the spotlight. One gets the impression that this is just a farce because the statements by the Inquiry Commission was supposed to serve the citizens to gain an insight into the whole wire-tapping affair, but the VMRO-DPMNE have decided to hide”, said Shilegov.

He said that as long as Minister Zoran Stavreski decides to speak publicly, then the session will continue.

In a statement by Antonio Milososki regarding the termination of the session, he insinuates that the SDSM delayed the whole thing to have an excuse to be able to quote the Przhino Agreement and claim that parts were not met and implemented and may request the postponement of the elections, and that is why his Commission officials do not want the next witnesses to come in line.
