LDP demands Gruevski return mandate and the formation of a pro-reforms Government

The Liberal Democratic Party is demanding that the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski, return the mandate to form the government because the LDP say the state needs a government that will start thorough reforms based on recommendations from the Priebe report.

“After a week of being awarded the mandate, Gruevski has failed to form a government. On the contrary, he continues to play with the citizens patience who on December 11 voted for change and for a regime change. All politicians suspected by the SPO of a crime, can not and must not form a government. Therefore, we urge Gruevski to return the mandate”, read a statement from the LDP.

They say that Macedonia must restore the rule of law and respect for the institutions.

“Among the priorities of the new government, there should be reforms of an independent judiciary, as well as continuation of the work of the SPO, and finally the start of lawsuits against all government officials and corrupt elites involved in crime, corruption and electoral fraud,” stated the LDP.
