AJM, CMEM, and TUMJ have informed the government about the standardization of on-line media

The Minister in charge of Communications, Accountability, and Transparency, Robert Popovski, and the government’s spokesperson, Mile Boshnjakovski, held a working meeting with AJN’s president, Naser Slemani, the President of the Council of Media Ethics’ Managing Board, Katerina Sinadinovska and the President of the Trade Union of Macedonian Journalists, Tamara Chausidis, as representatives of the three media organizations that are heading the initiative for creating the minimum criteria in the direction for protection and promotion of this profession in the internet media.

AJN, CMEM and TUMJ’s representatives have informed the government’s representatives about the basic idea and the necessity of obeying the basic principles of the journalistic profession in the Internet domain. At the meeting, the media organizations have announced their future activities that have resulted from this initiative i.e. an additional adjustment of the criteria and a deadline with the purpose of allowing each party that works in the Internet domain in Macedonia to have enough time to adapt. The government clearly indicates that it will always be a partner to the media organizations in their activities that are of tremendous importance both for the media and the media workers and the public interest of this country’s citizens” said the government’s press release.
