Tsipras against European sanctions on Russia

The newly elected Greek government opposes further sanctions against Russia and does not accept the statement of EU leaders condemning the killing of civilians in Mariupol (Ukraine) on 24th of January by speculating that Moscow is “responsible” for the actions of separatists in Ukraine.

During the day, senior party sources of SYRIZA informed reporters, expressing their “dissatisfaction” of negotiations of EU leaders on the subject in the absence of the new player, Alexis Tsipras.

Tonight, European medium “EU Observer” reported that they received an official statement saying “the above statement was issued without observing the procedure of approval of all member states, and especially without the approval of Greece. In this context, it is pointed out that Greece doesn’t agree with this view”.
