The Agreement for citizens to cross the border into Kosovo with just an ID card comes into effect today

The international agreement between the governments of Macedonia and Kosovo concerning travel conditions for citizens from both countries to be able to travel across the borders with just ID cards, has officially been enforced and takes effect today.

The first part of the decision today was marked by Macedonia’s Deputy Interior Minister Agim Nuhiu, the additional deputy, Mitko Chavkov, and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Valdet Hoxha from Kosovo, who all met at Blace, the Macedonia – Kosovo border.

This agreement was created for the citizens of Macedonia and Kosovo to be able to cross the border with bio-metric ID cards, was initiated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki, and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kosovo, Hashim Thaci who all held a meeting in Pristina on February 8 .
