Statistics from MOI: Mostly men commit domestic violence, and women are the most common victims

In the first six months of this year, the police filed criminal charges against a total of 388 people suspected of domestic violence, according to statistics from the Ministry of Interior.

Of the total number of the perpetrators of this crime, according to the statistics, 94% are men. In most of the reported cases or in a total of 161 cases, the violence was committed by a husband, in 84 cases by a son and in 21 cases by a father.

The most vulnerable category in domestic violence are still women, who in 75 of the reported cases were victims of violence. In addition, victims of domestic violence are parents and children.
