More than 50% of Young People Want to Leave the Country in Search of Employment

The rate of youth unemployment in Macedonia is 52.9%, which ranks the country third on the world list, says the study “Unemployment of Young People in Macedonia” conducted by the “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation this year.

The research has shown that 60% of young people above the age of 18, believe that finding work in the country will be difficult.

“Personal and political connections are ranked in top place according to significance as factors such as finding a job, whereas the salary is the most important factor for accepting work. Most young people would prefer to be employed in public administration. More than 50% are thinking or are ready to leave the country, mainly due to employment or to improve their financial position”, showed the research.
