The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that representatives from the two ministries yesterday in Skopje held their fifth meeting on the measures and that both countries are working to strengthen the trust and cooperation.

Representatives from both ministries focused on previously agreed upon topics, such as better interconnection, strengthening police cooperation, European programs, cultural and educational cooperation. They discussed improving civil protection, cooperation between the public administration, healthcare system, as well as cooperation between the diplomatic academies of the two ministries. Emphasis was also placed on deepening trade cooperation.

The next meeting on confidence-building measures between the two nations will be held in early 2017 in Athens.

Among the confidence-building measures, which were signed in the summer of 2015, a memorandum was also signed for the construction of a gas pipeline connection between the two countries.
