Today is a day rich in political events.
After yesterday’s protest of SDSM in front of the government in Skopje, national gathering in front of the Assembly was announced by VMRO-DPMNE for tonight.
Here is today’s political agenda:
- 1 pm– Press conference of citizens who remained camping in front of the Macedonian Government after the gathering of SDSM;
- 1.30pm – The leaders of the four largest parties, Nikola Gruevski, Zoran Zaev, Ali Ahmeti and Menduh Thaci, will hold the second leadership meeting to find a solution out of the political crisis. And this time it is expected for the ambassadors of the US and the European Union, Jess Bailey and Aivo Orav to attend the leadership meeting as observers. After the completion of the first leadership meeting, held on Thursday, participants announced that there was an attempt to create a framework for the talks for resolving the political crisis in the country;
- Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union today in Brussels, at the request of the head of the Bulgarian diplomacy Daniel Mitov, should discuss Macedonia and to come up with a common position on events in the country and measures that should be taken ;
- 6 pm– “I protest” announced a protest for the resignation of the government of Nikola Gruevski for today as well. Due to the protest of VMRO-DPMNE, which will be held at 8 pm in front of the Assembly, the civil initiative announced that they will march only to the Basic Court Skopje from the Government, where the protest will end;
- 8pm– VMRO-DPMNE organizes a great national gathering in front of the Macedonian Assembly;
- 10 pm– Citizens camp outside the Government of the Republic of Macedonia after the protest of SDSM for the second day.
For tomorrow is announced that Prime Minister Gruevski and SDSM leader Zaev will travel to Strasbourg at the invitation of MEPs who mediate in the political crisis.
