Today, the European Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs decided on the allocation of 120,000 refugees from Greece, Italy and other Member States that have been directly affected by the refugee crisis, announced the European Commission.
“According to this decision, the EU is now in a position in the next two years to allocate a total of 120,000 people who arei n need of protection. The Commission and EU agencies will coordinate with Member States to implement the agreement. The distribution is part of a comprehensive approach to dealing wit h the refugee crisis, “the statement read from the Commission.
The European Commission’s plan was proposed three weeks ago, but so far no agreement on its implementation has been resolved.
Tomorrow, on Wednesday in Brussels emergency summit will be held devoted to the refugee crisis. Heads of State will try to give an answer on how to resolve the Syrian crisis from the roots of the problem and how to help Turkey which has so far received approximately 2 million refugees. The topic should be the protection of the external borders of the EU.
