The EU Ambassador to Macedonia, Samuel Žbogar, during a visit to Radoviš, said that Macedonia needs a coalition for reforms and therefore, he believes that it should not be a problem to collect signatures of the majority to form a new government.
On his meeting with President Gjorge Ivanov, Žbogar said it was a “normal meeting after the completion of the election process.”
“It was a normal meeting following the completion of the electoral process. There was an attempt to form a government. Also, the President held consultations with representatives of political parties, where he advised them what was needed to give the mandate to the next person”, said Žbogar.
The EU Ambassador announced that the European Union will monitor the process of the formation of the new government.
“All political parties should be deeply committed to the EU agenda. We believe it will not be difficult to collect 61, or even more than 61 signatures, and for the new government to be committed to reforms, as it is important for the country. Precisely because of this, I think it will not be difficult to collect signatures for a coalition to implement reforms from the European Union”, said Žbogar.
