It is always good to have good relations with neighbouring countries, said EU Ambassador Samuel Žbogar, at a joint press conference with Italian Ambassador, Carlo Romeo, dedicated to the EU-Western Balkans Summit, which will take place from July 12th, in Trieste.
Žbogar said that Brussels expects the agreement on good neighbourly relations between Macedonia and Bulgaria to be finalized as soon as possible and that it is necessary to resolve bilateral issues with neighbours and EU member states in the region.
“The first steps are truly encouraging. We are not included in the agreement, however, we hope it will be finalized and signed by August”, said Žbogar.
Italian Ambassador Carlo Romeo, said the Trieste Summit will help the region on the road towards EU integration and will contribute towards infrastructure and economic integration in the Western Balkans.
