Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will celebrate the New Year’s Eve in Thessaloniki where his host will be the city’s mayor, Yiannis Butaris, informs Nova portal.
Zaev accepted Butaris’ invitation that was sent to him while he visited Skopje in November and when he met with the Macedonian Prime Minister.
Apart from the invitation to visit Thessaloniki, in the spirit of good neighborly relations, Boutaris stressed that he will strive, the next meeting between prime ministers Zaev and Alexis Tsipras, to take part in Thessaloniki.
In November, the prime minister said that he has agreed with the mayor of Thessaloniki that both countries’ politicians are obliged to open the citizens’ perspectives and added that they can come out as winners in they find a solution for the decades-long name dispute.
