SDSM will choose candidates for mayors in the municipalities, according to the results of the ongoing surveys, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev during his visit in Berovo.
“Municipalities play an important factor and have serious influence in the life of the people. Under their jurisdiction are schools, kindergartens, utilities, i.e. they touch all sphere of life and family. Therefore, lets be smart and run good candidates for mayors that are tailored to the citizens”, Zaev said.
The Prime Minister added that in the next few days decisions will be made who will be candidates for mayors and councilors.
“I am happy that there are many candidates who are promising for these positions in SDSM, which was not the case before. But, those candidates who have the greatest support will receive our trust, because we promised a long period of time to be a service to the citizens. Surveys show that parties are of secondary importance, candidates and programs are important”, Zaev added.
The Prime Minister noted that he expects regular, credible, fair and democratic elections for citizens to choose the right people for the municipality and councilors.
