Zaev: We are counting the days for the people to come out for a European Macedonia

-

We are counting the days for when our people will come out on to the streets for a European Macedonia. Only one event in our recent history can be compared to the challenge we face. This is the event 27 years ago, the day when we all voted for an independent Republic of Macedonia. These are two major events where we take responsibility as citizens. Together, we will secure our borders, we will provide our cultural wealth. Just like in 1991, this new referendum will be achieved by consensus, that is, all citizens will come together for a European Macedonia, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said at the MPs Clubhouse in Skopje, while promoting the campaign for the referendum of the Coalition “Together for a European Macedonia” .

The campaign, he said, has a hundred different subjects, and is expected to grow.

“This event is of historical proportions and is going to affect us for years to come. With full political responsibility, the “Together for a European Macedonia” coalition, composed of parties, civil associations, political parties, chambers of commerce and trade unions, who all agreed in the upcoming referendum to summon the people to come out vote for a better Macedonia, on September 30th,” he said, calling on VMRO-DPMNE to support the referendum.

“I know that they are for a European Macedonia, but I also know that they are against the agreement on the name. Do not miss this opportunity to become part of the EU. I am calling on Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE to join us because Europe and NATO are above party politics,” said Zaev.
