Referendums from several municipalities for the construction of apartments for refugees announced on the same day as the local elections, is a political manipulation, whose aim is to distract citizens’ attention ahead of the elections, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, in response to a journalist’s question during his visit to Veles.
“Macedonia is not such a good country for refugees to stay here. Lets hope it is a good country, then they will have aspirations to stay here. This is political manipulation by our political opponent, who wants to distract the people in the upcoming local elections. They do it because they fear that they will lose the municipalities as well”, Zaev said.
The Prime Minister said that if a majority of most of the municipalities are preparing to hold referendums on the ban of opening camps in Macedonia, SDSM will vote in favour, which will show that there will be 100%, no camps.
