Ministry of Interior suspects SDSM leader Zoran Zaev for a case of corruption with 200,000 euros.
“The accused, since November 2013 to the present, as a Mayor of Strumica, to person from Strumica directly for himself and for another, asked for a gift of significant value in an amount calculated from two euros per square meter of land in Strumica, which the victim was interested in privatizing. The land has a total area of about 100,000 square meters, so that the total amount requested by the victim is around 200,000 euros. According to documented information, half of the gift should have been for the reported and for construction of a church in Strumica,” informs MOI.
According to information from the Ministry of Interior, the request for bribery, at the end of December 2013, the victim reported to the competent public prosecutor, who started taking appropriate measures and actions for proving the crime.
“After realized two meetings between the victim and the suspect over the last year, as well as after providing the necessary evidence, grounds for suspicion that the reported Z.Z. committed the crime of accepting bribes under Article 357 of the Penal Code appeared,” says MOI.
