Zaev: Negotiations have failed, an agreement has not been reached

-

Negotiations between the four political parties, all signatory to the Przhino Agreement failed tonight after leaders failed to reach agreement on the contentious issues of the leaders’ meeting with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn.

SDSM’s working group, led by their leader Zoran Zaev, abandoned the negotiations on the grounds that they will not participate in elections if they are held on April 24.

“No agreement has been reached. If elections are held on April 24, SDSM will not participate in them. For SDSM it is unacceptable to hold elections without regulators for the media, and without upgrading the voter list”, said Zaev.

The leaders’ meeting which lasted more than eight hours, was attended by US Ambassador Jess Bailey, EU Ambassador Orav and Belgian facilitator Peter Vanhoutte.
