Zaev – Mickoski: The participation of the opposition is necessary

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met with Hristijan Mickoski, the new president of VMRO-DPMNE, this afternoon, the government’s press service announced.

“The meeting was realized through constructive dialogue, although the two interlocutors shared different opinions and attitudes. Prime Minister Zaev and the president of VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski, agreed that the opposition’s participation in the reform process is necessary”, the statement said.

The interlocutors also both noted that Macedonia’s path is in the EU and NATO, and that it requires the engagement of all political subjects, both the government and the opposition.

Mickoski did not want to disclose details after the meeting. He said that they discussed current topics and that he expects such constructive meetings in the future.
