Prime Minister Zoran Zaev received a delegation of the participants at the business forum consisting of representatives of the business community of Macedonia and the Russian Federation including members of the Intergovernmental Commission for trading-economic and science- technical cooperation between both countries, that will be having its 9th session in Ohrid, today and tomorrow.

The Russian Federation delegation was led by Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Aleksej Gruzdev, accompanied by the Russian ambassador Sergey Aleksandrovich Bazdnikin.

The Prime Minister stressed that the relations are traditionally friendly and they are characterized by a positive spirit, but also by an unused potential, which should be a signpost about the direction where the economic relations should head towards in the future.

Both sides in the commission have agreed that apart from current areas for cooperation in the areas of energetics, transportation, and agriculture, the cooperation should expand into other areas. They have agreed to form special working groups for all areas of cooperation.

The Russian delegation stressed that through the institutions of the Russian government a more active role will be taken and it will encourage the initiatives such as the Business Forum that is taking place in Skopje, in order for the people to get to know each other well and for the promotion of the cooperation.
