The future of the region lies only in the positive approach to solving open issues among the countries, with mutual respect and understanding, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev during the meeting with the Head of the Greek diplomacy, Nikos Kotzias, who is visiting Macedonia.
At the meeting, which the government press service reports it has passed in a pleasant and constructive ambiance, Zaev and Kotzias have pledged for “deepening of the trust between the two countries, through principled relations and mutual care for the interests of the two countries and its nations.”
Zaev has stressed that the new government is focused on developing good neighborly relations, the European values that are implemented through the reformatory plan “3-6-9” as well as the activities that are important for the NATO membership such as the increase of the Army’s budget.
-If Republic of Macedonia goes forward it will be good for the whole region – said Zaev.
During the meeting, Kotzias has stressed that Greece is open for an efficient solution for the problems, that it wants stability in the region and that in Macedonia it sees a good neighbor.
-We support you in your Euro-Atlantic aspirations. We want stability in the region and in you we see a good neighbor. We belong to peace loving countries. The Republic of Greece has no geopolitical and geostrategic interests towards your country. We are open for an efficient closure of the problems which sometimes can mean misunderstandings, by respecting the interests of both countries – said Kotzias, who, as an act of goodwill for deepening the collaboration between both countries, has offered an exchange of experiences and expertise in the reformatory process in our country that are important for the EU and NATO.
