For the time being, we cannot provide any information because we have to check the applications that were sent for the bid. Starting from tomorrow we will be able to provide information, said SDSM’s spokesperson, Petre Shilegov when asked about the number of candidacies that were received yesterday, when the deadline for a self-candidacy has ended, for a president of the party and members of SDSM’s Central and Supervisory board.
Still, from other sources within SDSM we have received an information that most probably no one will be a candidate for a president of SDSm but the current party leader, Zoran Zaev, including the information that “support is provided by all of the party’s municipality organizations.”
According to the rules, the candidacies will be submitted to the Party’s Central Board, and on the 17th of May, the Central Board will determine the proposals for the candidates for a president of the party and the members of its Central and Supervisory Board, and after that, what will follow are 6 days of candidate presentations. The determining fo the candidates will be done on the 27th of may and later during the same day, at the SDSM’s regular congress, the election will be performed.
