The statement of SDSM leader Zoran Zaev in front of the competent public prosecutor in connection with the criminal charges that SDSM filed against the director of the Security and Intelligence Service Sasho Mijalkov, Head of Fifth Administration Goran Gruevski and unknown persons for unauthorized eavesdropping took just over an hour.
– I was summoned as a witness, i.e. damaged party by regarding the criminal charges filed by SDSM. Although publicly we expressed doubt and denial of the judicial system in Macedonia, I want to point out that we submitted the charges to leave a mark, to show that we respect the Constitution and laws in Macedonia and to send a message that we know that the dignity of the institution of prosecution is disturbed only by individuals. Most people who work in these institutions are honest people who do their job honestly. And, therefore, we continue to cherish hopes that they will act in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Macedonia, nothing more nothing less, and thus send an encouraging message in this society. We hope that trust in institutions will be returned along with the “Truth About Macedonia” – said Zaev after exiting the prosecutor’s office.
He declined to comment on details of the statement before the competent prosecutor.
Asked if he gave testimony before the prosecution for case “Puch”, in which he is the fourth suspect, Zaev said that he has not been summoned by the prosecution until now.
– I’m not a lawyer, but as far as I know, everything depends on when we will be summoned as suspects by the public prosecutor. I, nor some of the people I know who are in custody, are still not summoned. I know that they will decide when they have enough evidence, because there is no indictment at the moment – said Zaev.
Regarding the canceled meeting between Prime Minister Gruevski and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, SDSM leader said that as citizens, so insiders in international institutions know what is happening in Macedonia.
