-

The leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, in an interview with “Radio Free Europe”, said that by the end of the month, he expects to be Prime Minister and the first measures the new government will take will be in the interest of the citizens. In the interview, he talks about reforms which are will be part of the new program, and also about the upcoming local elections.

“One solution which needs to be made in Parliament, is a change to the Electoral Code, due to the postponement of the local elections, which I believe will be in autumn, however this needs to be discussed and agreed upon by all parliamentary parties”, says Zaev.

Regarding the Special Prosecutor’s Office, he says “I want them to finish the work they were established to do”, and at the same time for the “judiciary to open certain processes, namely “its dissolution and re-election”.

In connection to the recent incidents in the Parliament, he says that is necessary for reconciliation to take place in a political, partisan, ethnic and national manner, and he hopes for reforms within VMRO-DPMNE, because as he says, the new government needs a strong opposition.
