The prime ministers of Macedonia and Greece, Zoran Zaev and Alexis Tsipras will meet in London at a fringe meeting at the Western Balkans Summit, which is to be held on Tuesday (July 10th), reported the “Independent”.
The two prime ministers will discuss developments following the signing of the Prespa Agreement and will coordinate their activities.
British Prime Minister, Theresa May, will host the Western Balkans Summit in London, demonstrating Britain’s long-standing commitment to the region and European security. She has invited the six heads of government of the Western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
The summit in 2018 will be the fifth to be held under the Berlin Process following Berlin (2014), Vienna (2015), Paris (2016) and Trieste (2017). The Berlin Process is a diplomatic initiative that German Chancellor Angela Merkel began in 2014. Each year the six Western Balkan countries come together along with EU partners, as well as representatives from EU institutions, and work together to support security, stability and prosperity in the region.
Other countries that have been invited by the UK are EU partners, including Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Poland, who will host the Western Balkans Summit in 2019.
