It is not a question of whether there will be elections because of the problems with the selection of the fifth member of the ad hoc body to regulate the media, said SDSM leader Zoran Zaev in response to a reporter’s question during a visit to Matka for the national holiday “Mother of God”.
“We should not allow because of such a small reason to postpone the elections because of different conclusions on the matter. I believe that on August 31, we, the Presidents of the largest parties, will announce that December 11 will be the date of the election. My personal view is that this ad hoc body can not be a reason not to hold the elections. I hope this requirement is met as well as the cleansing of the voter lists on August 31 and we will express our position as one of four sides to announce a date for the elections”, said Zaev.
SDSM believes that political parties should not be involved in the selection of the fifth member and appealed to the four members to choose the fifth member at the beginning of next week.
“Enough from the political parties! Citizens are fed up. These four people who work there as experts should slowly start to stabilize and should direct their thought at selecting the fifth member. As one of the Presidents of the major parties I appeal to the four members to choose the fifth member early next week, if not for anything else, for Macedonia”, said Zaev.
