With 10 parliamentary groups, VMRO-DPMNE puts an end to “constructiveness and pliability”

-

“Our constructiveness in our actions that some have called pliable, ends today”, said the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski, last week after 17 charges brought against him by the Special Prosecutor’s Office and other high-ranking officials of VMRO-DPMNE.

Today, MPs from VMRO-DPMNE in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia formed ten parliamentary groups and started blocking the work of the Parliament. Each coordinator has the right, to request a break, transcripts and videos from the session, and this has started to be used.

The move by opposition MPs has been interpreted as the implementation of the message of the VMRO-DPMNE leader, that their constructiveness has ended, and the intention is to block the laws of the immediate reform priorities by the ten parliamentary groups, starting with a blockade and delaying the procedure for the dismissal of the Attorney General, Marko Zvrlevski.

The coordinator of the SDSM parliamentary group, Tomislav Tuntev, today accused VMRO-DPMNE of blocking Parliament with the formation of ten parliamentary groups. At a press conference, he said that VMRO-DPMNE has the right to form parliamentary groups, but not to obstruct the reform process.

“VMRO-DPMNE acts hypocritically and irresponsibly. I urge them to give up the reckless move, which goes against the state and the interests of the citizens. We, as a parliamentary majority, will take all measures to prevent them from intentions. One can see from a plane that they are obstructing procedures, so that Marko Zvrlevski will not be dismissed”, said Tuntev.
