Livestock was saved the goods, furniture was collected. This is how villagers of Vasharejca in Pelagonija Municipality of Mogila spent the night, after Crna Reka again overflowed in the yards of several villages.
Spase Bozhinovski, farmer of Vasharejca, says that, the whole night, pumped water from yards and dug canals to direct water towards drains just to prevent it entering the houses.
– It’s all like a bad dream, the same situation from a month ago. We bore livestock to the higher ground of the village, put the fodder on a safer place. Fields and yield are gone, there is still people and livestock to the rescue – says farmer Bozhinovski.
Farmers say that the inhabitants of the Municipality of Mogila are “boiling” in revolt because the competent institutions or didn’t take their work seriously and didn’t repair the bed of Crna after the first major flooding.
– They came three weeks ago, when the weather was nice, and started making embankments with the machines, but the evening they went away, leaving work at the beginning, quite unprofessionally – said Bozinovski.
In the Municipality of Mogila already over five thousand acres of fields are again under water, and the road leading to the interior of the villages is completely flooded.
Their night was hard of the residents of the second Pelagonija municipality, Novaci, as well. There, municipality the entire night used construction machinery to repair levees, reinforce and stabilize the hoop which in February was made around the village Novaci, where there is a danger of flooding of houses and barns.
– We have several critical points and now we are focused on them, our fear that the ninth channel in village Radobor and Charlija could break, which would be dangerous for the villages in our municipality. The situation now is stable, we were working all night with machines on making new embankments – says Mayor of Novaci Lazar Kotevski.
