VMRO-DPMNE: Resignations of Zaev, Spasovski and Carovska for fair early elections

-

During yesterday’s session of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE, proposals by party president Hristijan Mickoski were accepted to form an Inquiry Committee in Parliament to investigate irregularities in the referendum, as well as the request for the dismissal of Public Prosecutor, Ljubomir Joveski.

VMRO-DPMNE’s vice-president Aleksandar Nikoloski said yesterday that the parliamentary group is unique in its view that the Agreement with Greece should not be supported.

“The Executive Committee came to the conclusion that declared this referendum unsuccessful, bearing in mind that only 36 percent of voters turned out to vote and it is clear that the will of the people is against the acceptance of this agreement. The referendum was accompanied by numerous irregularities. We noted that according to the analysis made by our team, over 50 thousand ballots were cast in the ballot boxes, citizens were intimidated, there were attempts of bribery and to influence voters, violation of the election silence and other irregularities. We witnessed a totally undemocratic and criminal process, and therefore we declare the entire procedure of the referendum result a huge forgery and we do not recognize the result of the referendum,” said Nikoloski.

The VMRO-DPMNE vice-president said that they also concluded that the Public Prosecutor should be replaced because he “does not perform his tasks in accordance with the competencies and duties, ie he turned a blind eye to blatant crimes and irregularities before, on the day and after the referendum”.

Nikoloski stressed that under such circumstances, election law must be respected and a technical government in accordance with the Przino model, which has a mandate of 100 days, should be formed immediately.

“That means the resignations of Zaev, Spasovski and Carovska and ministers of interior and labour and social issues from VMRO-DPMNE during the 100 days. Only that will be a precondition for fair elections,” said Nikoloski.
