The ruling party VMRO-DPMNE announced late this afternoon that they have decided to stop cooperating with the Belgian mediator Peter Vanhoutte in the negotiations.
The decision, according to the party, is based on Mr Vanhouttes insults towards the VMRO-DPMNE party and the representatives who participated in the negotiations, as well as “continuing to belittle the people and the Republic of Macedonia”.
“VMRO-DPMNE has tolerated his misconduct for a long time now, partly due to the fact that after every insult uttered or his taunts, Vanhoutte apologized like a kitten. Unfortunately, soon after his requests to be forgiven, new outbursts and new insults followed towards the VMRO-DPMNE party and the citizens. Due to these reasons, the VMRO-DPMNE will no longer participate in meetings which Peter Vanhoutte attends. As for VMRO-DPMNE, from today, Peter Vanhoutte is no more than a tourist in the country and we recommend during his stay, he visit the Museum of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle”, said a statement from the VMRO-DPMNE.
