At the Congress of the European People’s Party (EPP) which will be held on Wednesday and Thursday in Malta, the delegation of VMRO-DPMNE, led by party president, Nikola Gruevski, were introduced as a party from “FYROM”. The party is listed as such on a list of all parties participating in the EPP congress on the official website.
On the list of the associate members of the EPP, VMRO-DPMNE is listed with five delegates.
We asked the spokesperson for VMRO-DPMNE, Ivo Kotevski whether Gruevski plans to react after being labelled this way by sister parties.
“We are part of the EPP, under the reference which SDSM agreed to, stating that it wouldn’t last more than a few months. We, as VMRO-DPMNE, at every opportunity, point out that our constitutional name is the Republic of Macedonia, but mistakes and oversights from the past are difficult to correct”, replied Kotevski.
The congress will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in the town of St. Julian.
