Visitors celebrating the Catholic Christmas have arrived in Ohrid from Greece, Bulgaria and Albania

Several hundreds of guests, mainly from Greece, Albania and Bulgaria, have arrived in Ohrid to celebrate Christmas Day. Most guests are staying in the larger hotel complexes.

A smaller number of guests have also arrived in neighbouring Struga.

The guests who have arrived in Ohrid and will stay this weekend and it is expected many more will arrive for the Christmas holidays , and in addition to them and for the Orthodox Christmas.

Travel agencies, private hotels and people letting out private guest apartments are all satisfied.

Also, the local government announced that Ohrid will be packed with guests during the holidays.

Most of them are from the Republic of Macedonia and neighbouring countries, mostly from Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Albania, as well as Poland and Turkey.

Christmas and New Year will be a continuation of the successful tourist season this year, with an increase in number of visitors by 11 percent and nights spent by more than 7 percent.
