Vanhoutte: All parties submitted new amendments for the law on the media

-

The working groups of the political parties on media reform today will try to approach these issues. Belgian facilitator Peter Vanhoutte before the meeting at the MPs Clubhouse said he hoped they would make some progress.

“All parties submitted new amendments today, and we will be discussing that. I think it is good that everyone agreed to the meeting and they all submitted amendments”, said the Belgian facilitator.

Peter Vanhoutte added that some of the amendments are to articles of the law which have not been the topic of discussion until now.

The last meeting between working groups was held on Thursday, and negotiations were brought to a standstill on Friday until today, after bilateral meetings with Belgian facilitator Peter Vanhoutte negotiators had reiterated their red lines and made clear that they do not intend to deviate from their positions.
