Today, Reinhard Priebe and his team of experts are visiting the country as part of their engagement by the European Commission to help and advise the government in implementing systemic rule of law reforms.
The expert of the European Union and his team met today, with the President of the Supreme Court, Jovo Vangelovski. At the meeting, Vangelovski presented his proposal measures for the implementation of reforms in the judiciary.
“The current situation of the judicial system was discussed at the meeting and the draft measures for the implementation of judicial reforms, prepared by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Macedonia for the realization of the concept of an independent and objective judiciary as a guarantor of democracy and the rule of law, for the protection of human freedom and rights”, the Supreme Court in a statement said.
EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiation, Johannes Hahn, stated that Priebe together with his team of experts will stay in the country until July 21st.
