Vanhoutte: It is sad that some people think they can overrule their own legislation

Belgian facilitator Peter Van Houtte’s said today, after the decision of the Council of Public Prosecutors to select only half of the team that was requested by the special prosecutor Katica Janeva that it is adhered to the Law on Special Prosecution.

“The law provides for the prosecutor to obtain all resources, financial and human, she asked and she presented the report. Obviously this principle written in the law are not respected. I think everyone should respect and abide by the Agreement. This was agreed in the working group. It is sad that some people think they can overrule their own legislation”, said Mr Vanhoutte.

Following the decision of the Council, SDSM left the negotiations. The opposition announced that tomorrow they will announce whether they intend to return to negotiations.
