Freely, peacefully expressing opinions is a vital part of any democracy, as is a vibrant, independent media free of intimidation, replied the US Embassy to the question from “Meta”, “How would you comment on the frequent inter-ethnic incidents and the attack on the news crew from ‘A1on’ during the protest organized by “For a United Macedonia”.
The Embassy repeated yesterday’s statement by the US State Department, in which they called for the swift formation of government without further delay.
“As the US government said yesterday in the statement out of Washington: The United States calls on Macedonia’s leaders to form a new government without further delay, in a manner consistent with the constitution and Macedonia’s aspirations to join the European Union and NATO. The formation of a new government committed to rule of law and implementing needed reforms will help end a political crisis that has severely hindered the country’s democratic and economic development and Euro-Atlantic integration.The United States urges all parties to put the interest of Macedonia and its citizens above all else, to work together constructively, and to fully implement all of their commitments under the Przino Agreement”, reads the statement from the US Embassy.
