UEFA punished the Austrian national football team player Marko Arnautović who used racially charged language in his rant against Macedonian football player Ezgjan Alioski after scoring a goal during the match with North Macedonia.
“A ban for the Austrian national football player, Marko Arnautovic of a single game i.e. the next match under the banner of UEFA for insulting another player,” says UEFA’s decision.
Consequently, the Austrians will be playing without Arnautovic against the Netherlands tomorrow at 21 h in Amsterdam.
UEFA’s decision followed after the Football Association of Macedonia filed an official complaint to UEFA where it requested punishment for Marko Arnautović.
