The Special Prosecutor’s Office has received a reply from the Administration for Security and Counterintelligence (UBK) upon its request for the use of classified information in the procedure for the “Fortress 2” case, confirmed for “Meta” Katica Janeva’s cabinet.

The SPO hasn’t revealed what UBK said in their reply, but they said that they will inform the court at the hearing is scheduled for the 17th of January.

“We have sent requests to the relevant institutions and we have received replies. The court will be informed about the reply at the scheduled hearing on the 17th of January,” said the SPO in reply to our question whether the Special Prosecutor’s Office had received a reply and approval from the Administration for Security and Counterintelligence (UBK) for the declassification of classified information, so they can use it as evidence in the legal proceedings for the “Fortress 2” case, as ordered by the court?

At the preparatory hearing for the trial of“Fortress 2″, Judge Lidija Petrovska ordered SPO to ask for an approval from the organ that had created that information they had in evidence, in order for it to be used in a legal proceeding i.e. to be declassified to a degree where it can be used in a legal proceeding.

In the “Fortress 2” case,  the former chief in the fifth estate, Goran Grujovski, has been charged along with six other individuals, for destroying documentation that is connected tothe systems for illegal wiretapping affair.

“Fortress 2” and the case with the outbreak of violence in front of the Municipality of Centar in June, 2013, were the first cases, on the 15th of September last year, the SPO has filed charges.
