Tusk on Sunday, in Brussels will host the EU-Turkey summit, where the main topic will be the agreement to stop the refugee crisis in Europe.
The European Commission said it is closely monitoring developments and trying to find out exactly what happened to the Russian plane.
US military spokesman, Steve Warren, said the collapse of the Russian plane incident between the governments of Russia and Turkey has nothing to do with the operations of the coalition that lead the United States. He added that US operations against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS) are continuing according to plan.
Warren also confirmed that Turkey before the plane crash, repeatedly warned the Russian pilots, but they have received no response to the warning.
NATO-member Turkey has previously said that the collapsed Russian aircraft “Su-24” was for violation of Turkish airspace.
Russian President Vladimir Putin characterized Turkey’s move as a “stab in the back” and warned that the collapse of the Russian aircraft will have serious consequences for Russian-Turkish relations.
Meanwhile, the head of Russian diplomacy Sergey Lavrov canceled a visit to Turkey, scheduled for tomorrow.
