Alexis Tsiparis sworn in as new Prime Minister of Greece

Alexis Tsipras officially began his second term as Prime Minister. Tonight he is at the presidential palace in Athens, and is being sworn in as the new Prime Minister.

The new composition of the coalition government SYRIZA – Independent Greeks are expected to be announced shortly and the new government to be sworn in and start working tomorrow or at the latest on Wednesday. Tsipras will leave for Brussels in an emergency meeting at the EU to deal with the refugee crisis.

Tsipras on Sunday left for New York where he will participate in the General Assembly of the United Nations and if possible to meet with US President Barack Obama.

The Greek media speculated names of Ministers, commenting that there may be no dramatic changes, but only time will tell what composition Tsipras and Panos Kammenos will agree upon, which, according to information is likely to keep his post as Defense Minister.
