Gruevski’s three fingers on the gathering offended Greeks

-

Nikola Gruevski’s gathering was full of provocations and insults against Greece. This writes the Greek newspaper “Proto Thema”, analyzing the gathering of supporters of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE. According to the newspaper, through this gathering as well, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski shows that he is trying to gain points on the nationalist card and to remain on power in that way.

The numerous flags with the sun of Vergina and maps of “Great Macedonia” that were waved by Gruevski’s supporters, according to “Proto Thema”, are a new insult and provocation to Greece.

“During Gruevski’s speech, his supporters cheered all the time with the famous nationalist salute, a symbol of the irredentism in Skopje. It is a greeting with three fingers raised and shape of the letter “O” that allegedly symbolize the three seized parts of Macedonia (Vardar, Aegean and Pirin) and hint of unification,” writes “Proto Thema”, conveying the atmosphere from the protest.
