-

Parliament Speaker, Trajko Veljanoski has signed the decision to call early parliamentary elections, which will be held on December 11, reports his Cabinet.

“With this act, we return the mandate again to the people, who are the only supreme and most legitimate authority to judge, evaluate and decide which political option should receive the honour, and also the obligation to lead our country. In the meantime, the Republic of Macedonia is entering a complex period of time, where there will be an increase in activity of political parties, which I sincerely believe will be conducted in a mature, dignified and constructive atmosphere, and the elections on December the 11 as well”, reads the statement.

In Veljanoski’s letter from his cabinet, he thanks, MPs, journalists and the service of Parliament for their cooperation.

“On behalf of my other fellow MPs, I want to extend my greatest gratitude to the citizens who have given us confidence in the parliamentary elections in 2014 to be their representatives who have to work and create. I sincerely believe that we managed to justify their confidence in us, despite all the difficulties we faced as a result of the political crisis the country was brought to. I would like to share my deep conviction and reassurance that during this election period, our fatherland will pass its democratic test of maturity and will achieve a new qualitative level, which is the main goal of all the political parties”, Veljanoski said in his statement.
