At 11 o’clock, tomorrow in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, the Committee on European Affairs will hold its 6th session. On the agenda, and the only point is the draft law on the use of languages, in the second reading.
This session on the Law on Languages was originally scheduled for November 22nd, the Day of the Albanian Alphabet, but Committee Chairman, Artan Grubi postponed it. He said he did so in order not to defocus the public from urgent matters.
Although Grubi denied the connection, such a move came after EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn said during a visit to Skopje that the government should focus on the priority reforms that will be evaluated and that the Law on Languages is not in the Przino Agreement, nor is it something Brussels is looking for it.
