Tomorrow a protest will be held to mark the first anniversary of the death of Tamara

-

Tomorrow at 12:00, people will gather in protest before the Public Prosecutor’s Office to mark the first anniversary of the death of nine-year old Tamara Dimovska from Veles. Organizers are requesting the Attorney General to immediately file charges against those responsible for her death. Since the event was launched on the social network “Facebook”, the Public Prosecution announced that there are now more suspects in the case.

Today, just one day before the protest, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that more people were suspected of wrongdoing in the death of the little Tamara.

9 Year-old Tamara Dimovska from Veles, who had a curvature of the spine, died last year on February 9, after showing no signs of life after she had been taken to the hospital in Veles. The battle for the girl with the authorities lasted for three months, and Health Minister Nikola Todorov said that the state would pay for the operation.

Little Tamara’s health ordeal continued after the announcement of the operation, which cost 30,000 euros, and was going to be paid by the state. Her mother several times said that they had been stuck in a legal procedure, and some of the doctors who waited for a consultant’s opinion initially claimed that the nine-year girl case was not eligible for emergency surgery. Under public pressure, in early December, the Health Fund informed the Tamara’s family that “Commissions for treatment abroad under the Fund adopted a positive decision and that the insured patient T.D. will be sent for treatment at a respectable hospital in Turkey.”

After the little girl’s death, protests were held in several cities across the country.
