Today the court hearing “Divo Naselje” continues

At the Basic Court Skopje 1 the trial of the 29 defendants in the Divo Naselje case from May last year should continue today.
At today’s hearing opening statements should be heard by defence lawyers of 11 defendants in the case. Previously, at first session, which took place two days ago (February 9th) defence lawyers gave their opening statements for 18 of the accused. The two lawyers for the defendants are Shazifer Iseini and Naser Raufi.
All 29 of the defendants pleaded not guilty to charges of terrorism and being part of a terrorist organization.
After the hearing on Tuesday, lawyer Naser Raufi stated his defence and himself are convinced that the purpose of the attack on the checkpoint watchtower in Gosince and the events in Divo Naselje was to defocus the public from the wire tapped conversations released by the opposition.
