While the ruling VMRO-DPMNE announces typical electoral rally on Sunday in Skopje, as a counter-forum to that of SDSM in “Universal Hall”, which, at times, seemed like opening election season. There were reports that the opposition party will organize the following forums of this kind in other cities in the country.
That, in an interview, although not explicitly, was also announced by SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, and it was proven with the press conference of the Mayor of the Municipality of Centar Andrej Zhernovski.
Among public, this is related to the activities of the so-called Citizens Movement for Defense of Macedonia (GDOM), whose members hold conferences in cities across the country.
SDSM spokesman Petre Shilegov claims that they will continue with “bombs”, but they are coordinating on the way to do it.
– The forum in “Universal Hall” was an exception because we wanted to present our political demands. We will decide the next steps along the way, because this is such a matter – said Shilegov in a statement for news agency META.
On his Facebook profile, regarding the announcement of rally of VMRO-DPMNE on Sunday, he wrote:
“Gruevski would hold a debate in the hall Boris Trajkovski. Probably wants to prove that he organize a bigger debate. Silly man (people would say), if we wanted, we will fill the stadium in a day. You should understand that it is not the size of the debate, but the content of what it is said.”
Announcements that, after the eight “bomb” in the “Universal Hall”, in Skopje will follow new civic gatherings of this type, many in Bitola interpreted that the following “bombs” of Zaev, one by one, will explode in the other parts of the country.
SDSM leader in Bitola and MP Vasko Kovachevski says for META that they will go further with the publication of “bombs”, and it is likely to be released audio recordings about local officials as well.
– There is no concrete agreement what will follow, it will be an assessment of the leadership, but that there are talks of local officials is very likely. This is confirmed by the conversation between ministers Stavreski and Jankuloska, in which they mention the name of the Bitola mayor. How it will be conducted and revealed, however, depends on the assessment of the leadership of SDSM – says Kovachevski.
LDP leader Goran Milevski, who is from Bitola, believes that it will be good the content that concerns cities of the interior to be presented to the local population.
– We support the idea of citizens of the interior to hear which people manage their city. To reveal all those local strongmen, which made a mockery of the cities, who irresponsibly spend taxpayers’ money without a hint of conscience. The shit hit the fan during the disclosure of the first person in Bitola and I think that it should not stop, because citizens deserve it – says leader of LDP Milevski.
The only problem for the publication of “bombs” in smaller areas could be that there is no room for mass gathering of citizens as the “Universal Hall”.
For example, if SDSM comes to Bitola, in the Center of Culture, it would mean that the audio recordings would be heard by only 1,000 citizens, while in Kriva Palanka there is no room for even as many.
Unofficially, SDSM say that debates in smaller cities could be held outdoors, not in a small space.
According to unofficial information from the party in Tetovo, first discussions would be held in “SDSM’s” Kumanovo and Strumica, and then, perhaps, in Bitola and Tetovo.
